Salvation:  Exactly What is Salvation?

WARNING! This study is extremely long!

"How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him."    Hebrews 2:3

As we study this matter of salvation, I realize that many of you will formulate your opinion before you ever complete the study. Many more of you will not change your heart even if the scriptures themselves prove you wrong!

This study focuses on a topic that has caused much argument, discussion, and dissension within Christian denominations. Perhaps that is one of the major problems — denominations!

We are like those in Jeremiah's time and throughout the rest of the bible:  "Every man is right in his own eyes."

Some will never allow the scriptures to speak fully to them because it means that old traditional beliefs may be shaken and I think the hardest thing for mankind to do, especially in a proud, arrogant society such as ours (I say that because even murderers who have never repented believe they are going to heaven when they die), is to change.

For as many of you as fit the categories above, I will boldly say to you that you are WRONG -- DEAD (spiritually) WRONG. It is a REBELLIOUS man who refuses to hearken to the counsel of God.

If you are already convinced that your belief is correct, then there is no need for you to study this topic. Why do I say that? Because even if the scriptures prove you wrong (and it may be that they prove you right), you will not change your heart.

If you are one that formulates your opinion on the first couple of pages, you too, have no need to complete this study? Why?

"He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him." Proverbs 18:13

There are so many views of Salvation today that it is no wonder that so many arguments, divisions and so much strife arises over the topic. Some believe that salvation consists of baptism, faith, repentance, belief in Christ, good works, ones denomination and so on.  Others believe that you are saved by simple belief.  Still others believe God is just so good that he's going to save anybody anyway.

Some believe that everybody will be saved and that no one will ever go to hell. Some say we can save ourselves, others claim that we must have a mediator to save us, etc.  Still others don't even believe in salvation.

Regardless of what you personally believe about Salvation, let’s start at the beginning of the Word of God and find out about this Salvation thing.

Are you ready to study the scriptures on Salvation? Are you willing to let the scriptures speak?

As you read, keep this in mind:  THE WORD OF GOD MUST BE THE FINAL AUTHORITY FOR ALL DOCTRINAL MATTERS.

MEN'S OPINIONS are just that...opinions.  The WORD OF GOD is OUR FINAL AUTHORITY.

All Scripture References are take from the King James Bible.

In this study, we will be examining the origins of sin, the consequences of sin and the remedies for sin.  We will examine the lives of people from both the Old and New Testaments, their comments, prayers, statements, and lifestyles.  The best place, I suppose to start this study would be back where it all began:

In the beginning of course!
