Sexual Sins are Condemned by God Himself
All sexual sin is
forbidden by both Old and New Testament, completely apart from the Levitical codes, because it is a
moral issue. It is true that we are not
bound by the rituals in Leviticus that marked God’s people by their
separation from the world; however, the nature of sexual sin has not
changed because immorality is an insult and an offense to the holiness and
purity of God Himself. To commit such acts is to attempt to face God
as defiant. Just because much of Leviticus doesn't apply to
Christians today doesn't mean none of it does! ALL the moral law applies
to us regardless of which book in the bible it is found.
The argument that the
word "abomination" is connected with idolatry is well answered by
examining Proverbs 6:16-19,
which describes what else the Lord considers abominations: a proud look, a
lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises evil
imaginations, feet that are swift in running to mischief, a false witness
that speaks lies, and a man who sows discord among brethren.
Idolatry plays no part
in these abominations listed in Proverbs. The argument doesn't hold
water. If the practices in Leviticus 18 and
20 are condemned because of their association
with idolatry, then it logically follows that they would be permissible
if they were committed apart from idolatry (which is exactly what
homosexuals are attempting to claim!).
That would mean incest,
adultery, bestiality, and child sacrifice (all of which are listed in
these chapters) are only condemned when associated with idolatry;
otherwise, they are allowable. No responsible reader of any moral
fortitude at all could read these passages and agree with such a belief!
There is another avenue
of attack by the homosexual community. Again, there is an attempt to
pervert the words of Jesus in Matthew 7
concerning “judging”.
Calling
Homosexuality a Sin Is Judging?
I heard it said that
the most often-quoted Bible verse used to be
John 3:16, but now that tolerance has become
the ultimate virtue, the verse we hear quoted the most is "Judge not, lest
ye be judged." (Matt. 7:1).
We are being told
constantly, and I have received MUCH hate mail stating that anyone who
calls homosexual activity wrong is a bigot and a homophobe, that they
don’t “love” or “care” about people, blah blah blah, etc. It is quite amusing
that even those who don't believe in the Bible can be heard to quote the
"Judge not" verse.
When Jesus said "Do not
judge, or you too will be judged," the context makes it plain that He was
talking about setting ourselves up as judge of another person, while
remaining blind to our own sinfulness , hence the statement concerning the
“beam and the mote”.
I won’t deny that there
is an overwhelming amount of self-righteousness in the way much of the
church today treats those struggling with the temptations of
homosexuality, but there is a difference between agreeing with the
standard of Scripture when it declares homosexuality wrong, and personally
condemning an individual because of his sin.
Agreeing with God about
something is not “judging”. The true fact is: The Word of
God has already judged all manner of sin and has declared it to be in
violation of God's Standards. In other words, ALL SIN IS WRONG.
Suppose I am speeding
down the highway, and I get pulled over by a police officer. He approaches
my car and, after checking my license and registration, he says, "You
broke the speed limit back there, sir." Can you imagine me getting angry
and yelling at that policemen: "You're judging me! The bible says Judge
not, lest ye be judged!” You can't judge me like that so you
just go somewhere else and leave me alone! Can you imagine such a scenario?
The policeman is simply
pointing out that I broke the law. He's not judging my character, he's
comparing my behavior to the standard of the law.
Likewise, it is not
judging when we state what God has said about His moral law!
Judging,
by the standard of the world today is when they have wrongdoing pointed
out to them. Jesus told us to FIRST remove the beam from our eye,
then we could see clearly to remove the speck from someone else's.
According to the "don't judge me" crowd today, there is absolutely no on
alive who has removed the beam from their eye!
Jesus told us to
judge righteous judgment (John 7:24) and the only way anyone can do that
is by the Holy Ghost!
Have you never read 1 Corinthians
chapters 5 and 6? In these passages,
Paul tells us that we SHOULD judge things according to the bible.
Another perversion of scripture often used by homosexual activists is
Romans chapter 1
They claim that this
Passage on Homosexuality Does Not Describe True Homosexuals. They
claim it either describes Heterosexuals Who Indulge in Homosexual Behavior
That Is Not Natural to Them or that it refers to “homosexual
offenders” (from the descriptions I’ve received concerning this, they
define a “homosexual offender” as one who doesn’t stay with one partner or
as one who strays outside a monogamous relationship).
Let’s then read the
passage:
Romans 1:26-27 says, "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their
women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And
likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in
their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is
unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which
was meet."
Some
Homosexuals try to get around this clear prohibition against both gay and
lesbian homosexuality by explaining that the real sin Paul is talking
about here is straight people who indulge in homosexual acts, because it's
not natural to them. Homosexuality, they maintain, is not a sin for
true homosexuals (since they claim it is "natural for them
to be homosexual).
There is
nothing in this passage that suggests there is a distinction between
"true" homosexuals and "false" ones. Paul describes the homosexual
behavior itself (not the person) as unnatural, regardless of who
commits it. In fact, he chooses very specific unusual words for men
and women. He uses words that clearly define the male and the female
(versus simply “mankind”).
The
behavior described in this passage is unnatural for males and for
females. The passage has nothing to do with so called "sexual orientation"
at all. He is saying that homosexuality by even the most casual use of
the word, is unnatural and against nature.
He doesn’t even attempt to say that the behavior is only unnatural to
heterosexuals, but rather emphatically states that it is unnatural to
anyone.
Romans 1
describes men "burning” with lust for one another. This is NOT speaking
of “straight” men who were experimenting with homosexuality (as has
been suggested).
It is a
complete perversion of scripture to make
Romans 1
read anything other that what it says, and it plainly reads
ALL HOMOSEXUAL
ACTIVITY IS SIN.
I
received an email asking, among other things, if I thought homosexuals
should be put to death. I answered immediately NO, I do not believe
that. I believe they need to repent and turn from their sin, in
complete and total surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ. Death has
already been pronounced by God and exclusion from the Kingdom of God has
already been pronounced upon them. In fact, death has been
pronounced upon all sinners and the penalty for homosexuality is no
different than it is for a liar, a thief, an adulterer or any other
sinner.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
“Know ye not that the
unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither
fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of
themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor
revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”
It is
God who has pronounced the penalty
of
death for ALL sinners who remain in their sins. The bible is very
clear that homosexuality is a sin. It is no worse than any other
sin, nevertheless, the fact remains that it is sin.
The
Christian’s stance against homosexuality is often perverted and an attempt
is then made to demonize the Christian. Properly understood, the
stance is that we, as Christian people, don’t want to see ANYONE perish,
and we know that unless men turn from their sin and turn to Jesus Christ,
they will be eternally lost.
Even Children Understand
I heard a
child ask “if a man married a man, how can they make babies?” How
can that question be answered except to say that they cannot?
If a 4th
Grade child can understand the concept, why is it that homosexuals cannot?
Apparently, they forgot that they were born as a result of the sexual
union of a man and a woman. Homosexuals are constantly trying to
subvert the natural sexual conception of a child by turning to invitro
fertilization. This is rather amusing. Apparently they believe
that by having a baby without "natural sex" they are somehow justifying
their lifestyle. Perhaps homosexuals and lesbians could use a quick
lesson in basic high school biology? I don't really care whether you
have natural sex or not, the true fact is you must have a sperm, from a
male (science cannot CREATE this!) and an egg from a female (again,
science cannot CREATE this!) in order to even attempt to conceive a child!
It's quite interesting how the more folks try to get around God, the more
they must use HIS methods!
The Church Must Take A Stand
The Christian position
is clear and should be firmly held by ALL Christians:
Homosexuality is Sin. We should not EVER “tolerate” or allow sin in
any form or fashion. This goes not just for homosexuality, but also
for lying, stealing, adultery, fornication, child abuse, wife-beating,
alcoholism, etc.
The Bible
is clear in it's teaching of
salvation.
It tells us that "All
have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."
This tells me that no matter who you are and what you've done God loves
and accepts you as you are WHEN YOU REPENT AND TURN FROM YOUR SIN. He asks
that you OBEY the gospel and turn from unrighteousness.
I believe
all sin is forgivable (except blasphemy against the Holy Ghost) but I also believe
there is no excuse for continuing in
your sin.
It would do us all well
to remember the Apostle Paul’s words of Romans 1:32
“Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such
things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in
them that do them.”
The Entire truth of scripture is that EVERY SINGLE TIME homosexuality or
homosexual actions are mentioned in the bible, it is CONDEMNED.
Christians should flee from all sexual immorality including
homosexuality.
There
is a Remedy
What every single
homosexual needs to realize today is that they are in sin, they need to
repent of that sin and come out of it.
There is only one way
that they will ever be free, though, and it is NOT through the simple
repetition of some ineffectual, spiritually inept "sinner's prayer".
They will only gain
freedom from their immoral sexual lifestyle through SINCERELY seeking the
Lord Jesus Christ and a PERSONAL, BIBLICAL, GODLY, RELATIONSHIP with Him.

You may
bash me all you wish. I will not attack you personally. I
never have and never will. I do, however, take the firm stance that
biblically, you are in
violation of the Word of God.
