Is it a
Crime to Speak the Truth?
Hate Crime: How is it
Defined?
Since former
President George Bush signed into law, the
"Hate Crimes Statistics
Act" on April 23,
1990, we have seen legislators grope at the opportunity to
promote unethical, irreverent, vile, obscene, perverse
lifestyles, speech, and thinking. The world has
rallied around this new method of erasing the knowledge of
sin from their lives. After all, if sin can be
redefined as an "alternate" method of living, thinking,
and acting, then the very concept of wrong-doing becomes
only a choice to live a bit differently. After all
if we could somehow redefine murder and call it a
"mercy-killing", then it becomes acceptable by the
majority.
The law former
President Bush (Sr.) signed, gave a mandate to the
Department of Justice to collect data from "hate crimes"
and was done under the Federal Uniform Crimes Reporting
guidelines.
The FBI
reported over the next few years, that "hate crimes" are
extremely difficult to identify simply due to the nature
of the definition especially since all crime contains an
element of hate! Much of the FBI's report contained
information on "simple assault" and "intimidation"
incidents, none of which could be readily classified as a
"hate crime". Real crimes, they suggested, involved
such things as vandalism, credible threats, actual
assaults and violence. It was further stated that
these types of crimes were already handled at the state
levels and there was no need for Federal intervention.
When former
President Bill Clinton appointed Janet Reno, a lesbian, to
the office of Attorney General, the real purpose of the
"hate crimes" bill had not yet been manifested. Ms.
Reno expanded the law to include, not surprisingly,
"sexual orientation". This made public disapproval
of homosexuality potentially a prosecutable offense:
a hate crime! Of course, because there was so much
"outcry" by the public and especially by the Christian
community against homosexuality, this classification
expansion to include sexual orientation as a hate crime
provided what Ms. Reno needed to put some "bite" into the
law: she now had an "epidemic" of hate crimes.
With the
expanded definition including sexual orientation, what we
had now was a way to determine those who follow true
biblical teachings from those who do not! Hence,
Christians were now "identified" as a specific class of
people.
1.
Identification had been accomplished.
Most Christians are
very aware that "tolerance" is the war cry of the
anti-religious, anti-God, anti-Christian crowd.
We're told that Christians are "intolerant" because they
will not accept the ideas or views with which they
disagree. The truth of the matter is that it is
not "tolerance" most people who rally behind this
movement really want. It is "acceptance and
affirmation of and agreement with their particular
lifestyles that is the real motivation behind the cries
of tolerance.
Christians believe
truth will always prevail over error and the
anti-Christian crowd cries foul when a Christian would
dare stand to point out error. This friend is not
tolerance, it is relativism. Relativism is the
idea that truth is relevant only to the individual or
culture holding a particular belief. In the
process of relativism, truth is the casualty.
The real
intolerance is not to allow someone to disagree with
their views without threat of sanctions, censorship or
violence.
Christians are
being classified daily as intolerant, unloving, hateful
and hypocritical. Jesus said these things would
happen. Why then should the church be take by
surprise when the world HATES them? We've enjoyed
our time of embrace when the world and its system loved
the church and adhered to a lot of its values.
That time, folks, is over. There is s separation
between the church and the world that is growing every
wider and will ultimately end in the greatest war to
ever take place: That between the system of
anti-Christ and Christ himself!
We have witnessed
as giant mega-retail stores have demanded that employees
refrain from using terms such as "Merry Christmas"
because the word "Christmas" was offensive to others.
We've been told we can't pray at schools, school events
or graduations. We've watched as the ACLU has
attacked Christians over nativity displays, crucifixes
and even crosses on top of churches!
Christians and
Christianity has been told how "intolerant' and inferior
our beliefs have become. Christians have been
attacked for voicing their opinions that Islam is not a
"race of people" but an intolerant, hate-filled religion
of Satanic perversion and violence. It is the
Christian that has been under fire for expressing
outrage against the intolerance of Radical Religious
Islam.
Even American
Presidents have jumped on the bandwagon of the
anti-Christian rhetoric. Former President Clinton
described Christian and Conservative Radio programs as
being "negative, intolerant and cynical". It is
well documented that the former President and his
cabinet referred to Christian and Conservative talk
shows as "hate radio"

"Some of the press who speak loudly about the freedom
of the press are themselves the enemies of freedom.
Countless people dare not say a thing because they know
it will be picked up and made a song of by the press.
That limits freedom.” Geoffrey Fisher, former
Archbishop of Canterbury
