Channeling:  What's that? 

Channeling is nothing more than the term used whereby someone (usually a New Age religionist) allows a spiritual entity to temporarily enter and use their body so the spirit can interact with other people.

Most channelers are not even aware of what goes on during the time the entity takes over them. This "entity" is nothing more than a purely demonic being.   Sadly, New Agers consider channeling to be a highly developed spiritual state to be desired.  In other words, to a New Age believer, channeling is a good thing and something to attempt to attain.

The bible labels one such as this as one who has a "Familiar Spirit".

It would do every Christian well to learn, memorize and adhere to these two Old Testament passages of scripture.  (Oh, I'm fully aware that there are those who reject these passages simply because they are "Old Testament"):

Leviticus 19:31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 20:6 And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. 

I once read an excerpt from a book called "Kingdom of the Cults" by Walter Martin.  In that book Mr. Martin spoke of Channeling as "Spiritualism" and stated: 

"...Spiritualism is the masquerade of demonic forces, who pretend to be departed spirits with the intent of deceiving through the power of Satan those foolish enough to believe the testimony of demons in preference to the authority of the Word of God Himself"

You must understand, this is a very serious matter and it is nothing more than consultation with a demon spirit.

Call it what you will (channeling, a medium, consulter of familiar spirits, spiritualism, or necromancy communication with the dead etc),  but know that  these practices are abominations in God's eyes and God's judgment will be on all those who practice such things.
 

Those who "channel" as mediums or as willing vessels are in demonic bondage and are participating in occult practices.  There is NO WAY that fellowship with God is possible under these conditions.  Christ has no fellowship with Belial, light has no fellowship with darkness and truth has no fellowship with a lie. 

Almost every single "channeler" I have dealt with says they have "truth".  Their explanation of truth, however is always based upon emotions not upon substantiated facts.  It always has been and always will be Satan's deceptive lie to get someone to trust their emotional, intuitive experiences  or "feelings", rather than to trust the written commandments of God.  When Satan finally convinces someone that "experience" is more reliable than the Word of God, then he has a very strong demonic hold upon that person. 

Friend you cannot trust your emotional experiences, even when they "feel" good and right UNLESS you first try those experiences by the Word of God.  Just because you may 'speak in tongues'  doesn't mean the tongues were of God.   Just because you went to Toronto and laughed doesn't mean there was anything holy about it.  You MUST submit yourself and your experience to the Word of God.  If it lines up and is right by the Word, then you've had a wonderful thing!  If it does not concur with the written Word of God, you better flee from it! 

Spiritual Experiences 

We are spiritual creatures.  Of that, there is no doubt.  God is a spirit (John 4:24), Angels are spirits (Psalm 104:4) and we are made in the likeness and image of God.  If God is a spirit, what is his likeness and image?  Right:  Spirit.

A spiritual experience is one in which contact is made "spirit to spirit".   Since a person CANNOT have a spiritual experience with himself,  then one must be making contact with some other  spiritual being.   The angels of God (good spirits) minister only to God and to those whom God has allowed by faith in Jesus Christ.  The bible forbids all contact with any spirit at all, except for God Himself. 

Since Angels of God ("good" spirits) are completely and totally obedient to God and His will, and will not violate God's will.  Also, since man cannot have a spiritual experience with himself,  there are only 2 remaining possibilities:  These channelers must be making contact with either the one true God, or with some wicked spirit. 

It is very easy to rule out the possibility that New Age Channelers are communicating with God Himself. 

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Now barring the bible verse, New Agers believe that God is all and is in all.  They do NOT believe God is independent and outside His created universe or that he exists outside the created universe.  They also reject the belief that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to God despite what the written Word of God says:

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

2 John 1:9 "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son."

Since New Age Channelers deny both these passages and will not accept Jesus as being the Only Way to God, there is only one possibility concerning the spirits with whom they make contact:  Demon Spirits  (wicked spirits).

1 Timothy 4:1 "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;"

Friend, America and tragically, a large portion of the church today has done just that:  They have given themselves over to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.

The bible give you all the information you need to know about life after death.  EVERY OTHER BIT OF INFORMATION outside the bible is a LIE and is from the Father of Lies (Satan).  There is no purgatory, no reincarnation, and no nirvana.  There is no "dearly departed" loved one visiting you in your home or "watching over you" or other such nonsense.  Christians have no business believing such lies and deceit.  The example we have in Luke 16 of the rich man should be enough to speak volumes concerning the dead!.  He COULD NOT go back to visit with his brothers (as a ghost or otherwise) and he COULD NOT see what they were doing.   

DANGER 

Oh, Christian:  Listen to me.  If you have dabbled in the occult, in séances, psychic consultations, horoscopes, necromancy (communication with the dead) or other such practices, you need to IMMEDIATELY repent of and IMMEDIATELY forsake those things!  This is not a laughing matter, nor is it a light matter.  If you truly understood the danger of demonic oppression, the danger you have placed yourself in and if you realized that by doing these things you are diametrically opposed to the gospel, you would have never done those things.  There are MANY people with whom I have dealt in the past who have become enslaved and oppressed by demonic powers to the point that even demonic manifestations are possible. 

God wants you to turn to him and away from all that is in opposition to Him.  In so doing, God promises to hear, to listen and to restore you.

Jeremiah 29:11-14 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive."
