Devils
(or Demons if you prefer)
Where
did Satan Come From? How did the Devil Become the
Devil?
We have a few passages of scripture
that tell us of Satan's fall, but we don't have a time
frame in which this occurred other than to realize that
his fall happened sometime before Adam and Eve were
placed into the Garden of Eden.
We CAN safely say that since the
beginning of mankind, Satan has been around and had
already fallen. It is also safe to say that since
Satan had already fallen at this point, then his angels
had also fallen since it is recorded that he took 1/3 of
the angels with him at his fall.
We need to read a few more
scriptures to determine what caused Satan to fall and to
determine what his motives might be toward both God and
man.
In the following passages, I have
heard and read of many scholars who claim these
prophecies pertained to some King of times past, but not
to Satan. This is an utterly ridiculous reading of these
passages and it is IMPOSSIBLE to apply these passages to
an earthly king without deliberately, willfully
perverting scripture!
Ezekiel Chapter 28 and Isaiah
Chapter 12
Ezekiel 28:12-19 "Son of
man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus,
and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou
sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in
beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God;
every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius,
topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the
jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the
carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets
and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day
that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub
that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast
upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up
and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou
wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast
created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the
multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the
midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned:
therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the
mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering
cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine
heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast
corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I
will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before
kings, that they may behold thee. Thou hast defiled
thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine
iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick;
therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst
of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee
to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them
that behold thee. All they that know thee among the
people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a
terror, and never shalt thou be any more."
Isaiah 14:12-15
"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of
the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground,
which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said
in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will
exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit
also upon the mount of the congregation, in the
sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights
of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet
thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of
the pit."
I said that it was impossible to
misunderstand these passages without deliberately and
willfully doing so. Let me explain my statement.
Look back at Ezekiel 28:13: "Thou hast been in
Eden the garden of God..." If we stopped here, we
could possibly apply this to an earthly king but upon
further examination, the Word of God becomes clear that
we are not referencing any earthly creature! We
read of the coverings, the tabrets and the pipes.
Verse 14 can NEVER apply to any earthly creature!
Ezekiel 28:14 "Thou art the anointed cherub that
covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the
holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in
the midst of the stones of fire."
There were only 4 entities in the
Garden of Eden: God himself, Adam, Eve and 1
other: the Serpent -- Satan!
In Isaiah we again see the
reference, not to an earthly king but to a supernatural
being: Isaiah 14:12 "How art thou
fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken
the nations!..."
There is only a record of ONE who
has ever "fallen from heaven". THAT, my friend is
the same as we have seen in Revelation 12, Luke 10 and
other passages. That "one" is Satan, Lucifer, "the
Devil"!
I want to make a critical
point here: The NIV Bible commits open
blasphemy by substituting the phrase "morning star"
for "son of the morning", thus calling Lucifer the
"morning star". There is only ONE "morning
star" and that star is JESUS! Jesus himself
declared he was the morning star!
Revelation 22:16 "I Jesus
have sent mine angel to testify unto you these
things in the churches. I am the root and the
offspring of David, and the bright and morning
star."
Read more about this
deliberate
mistranslation as recorded in several modern bible
versions.
Isaiah records the reason for Satan's fall: I
WILL, I WILL, I WILL. Five times in verses 13 and
14, Satan (Lucifer) said "I WILL". Not only is it
rebellion to choose your own will above God's will, but
in Satan's case, he was vain, arrogant, and full of
enough pride to believe he could be not only "like" God,
but that he could be ABOVE God! For this
cause, God cast him down and 1/3 of the angels that
stood with him.
I
believe at this point we have firmly established that
Satan and his angels were cast out of heaven into the
earth and this, my dear one, happened at some point
before man was created.
What are devils? They
are the fallen angels that were cast out of heaven!
Where are these angels now?
Let's see as we continue.
